3rd Annual “I LOVE OUR RIVER” Day Set for June 11^th in Alexandria Bay!

Help keep our river clean and beautiful for all generations to enjoy, in the HEART of the Thousand Islands

On Saturday, June 11, volunteers are invited to take part in “I Love Our River” Day, a clean-up initiative organized by Alexandria Bay’s Chamber of Commerce.  As the “HEART” of the 1000 Islands, area residents, organizations and groups are invited to show their love for Alexandria Bay by participating in this fun and rewarding coastal clean-up effort.

If you love the river and enjoy partaking in acts of kindness to make our area a better place, please sign up with your friends, family and fellow community lovers today!  Volunteers who sign-up by May 27^th will receive their FREE choice of a stylish hat or fitted t-shirt compliments of Alexandria Bay’s non-profit partner PAYIT (Public and Youth Improvement Team).   Show your Alexandria Bay and 1000 Islands pride all year long!

With clean-up efforts scheduled from 8 AM – 1 PM, volunteers will meet at the village’s Upper James Street docks for check-in at 8 AM, as well as a quick overview of safety guidelines.  A complimentary lunch for all volunteers will begin at 12 PM.  A final “Thank You” statement, including door prize giveaways from local business sponsors will bring the day to an end at 12:30 PM.

Specific sign-up opportunities include: Shoreline walkers, canoers and kayakers in water, boat and truck operators, crews to ride on boats, safety and disposal coordinators, registration help, lunch grillers and servers, Goose Bay coordinators (secondary location) and more.

Your registration will not be complete without submission of a safety waiver.  We look forward to seeing you.
