Flooded with tourists taking advantage of the sun and scenery of the beautiful Alexandria Bay seems to be ideal conditions for the likes of street performers this weekend as they conduct the Alex Bay Busker Fest + Comedy July 15th-18th all throughout the center of town. A busker is the colloquial term for talented performers who perform music or other entertainment in the street or another public place for monetary donations.

This weekend A Bay will be home to Wacky Chad, a stunt comedian who performs aerial tricks on pogo and unicycle, and has been featured on the Today Show and America’s Got Talent, Mad Man Dan who’s daring escapes and cheeky contortions give him his moniker, and have earned him countless prizes across busker festivals worldwide, and finally Iron Dude USA who you’d swear is made of metal.

Rounding out the entertainment cornucopia is a stand up comedy performance Saturday Night from the Comedy’s Best Kept Secret Tour, which features comedians from HBO, Wendy Williams, FXX, and Netflix. The talented performers include Alex Bay’s own Matt Clark who’s accolades include Funniest Local Comedian at the Lake Ontario Playhouse, Syracuse Stand out Comedian Paul Wood, and headliner Dan Frigolette from Sexy Beasts, The Artie Lange Show, and Boardwalk Empire.

Event organizer, known locally as “Critter” is adamant that Alexandria Bay is the ideal location for entertainment and hopes to further champion fostering the Arts in the area. “Comedians now more than ever need a venue to express their art, after having been quarantined with their own thoughts for a year plus, some wonderful artistic renaissance of expression and growth will come in the next few years” says event headliner Dan Frigolette “I haven’t been able to force a group of people to listen to my problems for months.”

Uncle Sam Boat Tours at 50 James Street is providing the venue for the Comedy Show, taking place from 8pm to 10pm with 7:30pm doors, tickets for the Comedy’s Best Kept Secret Tour are available at www.comedysbestkeptsecret.com, for $15.15 or $18 at the door.
